Scott F. Gilles is a senior associate with the law firm of Fahrendorf, Viloria, Oliphant & Oster L.L.P. Mr. Gilles’ practice focuses on real estate and development transactional law and the representation of developers, contractors, suppliers, engineers and architects in all aspects of construction law.  Mr. Gilles has represented design professionals in complex multi-million dollar construction cases and has provided legal consultation to a variety of clients in the construction industry.

Mr. Gilles also represents clients in bankruptcy and foreclosure matters by providing legal advice to businesses and individuals facing financial distress.  Mr. Gilles’ bankruptcy practice focuses on the representation of consumer debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

Before joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Gilles was an associate with another Reno law firm, practicing almost exclusively in Real Estate and Development law. After earning his legal degree, he spent a year as a law clerk in the 1st Judicial District Court of Nevada for the Honorable Michael R. Griffin.

Mr. Gilles is a member of the Nevada and California State Bar Associations, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern Nevada, the Young Lawyers Section of the Nevada State Bar Association, the Northern Nevada Bankruptcy Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the Washoe County Bar Association. He earned his undergraduate degree in English Writing, with a minor in Political Science from the University of Nevada Reno. He received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law. Mr. Gilles is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Nevada, all state courts in California and the Eastern District of California Federal Court.
