Motorcycle Crashes in Nevada

Riding a motorcycle is a feeling like no other, but any experienced rider can tell you just how dangerous it can be at the same time. Motorcycle crashes are involved in a substantial number of deadly collisions each year, and statistics show that almost 19 percent of deadly crashes in Nevada involve a motorcyclist. Things do not look any better on a national level. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were 5,014 motorcyclists killed in crashes nationwide in a recent year, with 84,000 people being injured.

There are many factors that leave motorcyclists exposed to the dangers of the road. These vehicles do not offer as much protection as a passenger car, and they lack airbags and safety belts. Motorcycles are also smaller and harder to see on the roadway. This means that collisions are more likely to happen when drivers are not looking out for smaller vehicles, and the lack of protection means that riders are much more likely to be seriously injured in the process.
