Reno, NV - Injuries in Collision at NV-445 & Axe Handle Canyon Rd

Reno, NV (December 27, 2023) - On Monday night, December 25, at least one person suffered injuries following an auto accident in the Reno area. At around 9:27 p.m., the crash was first reported on NV-445 NB near Axe Handle Canyon Road. The crash resulted in all lanes on the highway being temporarily shut down.

There were confirmed injuries at the scene, but the severity and number of the related damages have not been determined. The roadway was closed while emergency responders were present, and tow trucks were later dispatched to clear the site of the resulting wreckage. No additional information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing accident investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Nevada Distracted Driving Accidents

When a driver looks away from the road, even for a few seconds, it can prove disastrous. There were 3,100 people killed by distracted drivers in the United States in 2019, and more than 424,000 people were injured. Nearly one in five of those killed in distracted-driving crashes that year were outside a motor vehicle. You can travel the length of a football field in the time it takes to send a text when traveling on a highway, and that is more than enough distance to cause a catastrophic auto accident.

It is hard to feel completely safe when driving in Nevada. You cannot stop another reckless driver from causing a crash, no matter how safe of a driver you may be. Victims of auto accidents typically sustain serious injuries in addition to significant property damage. These losses can take the form of mounting medical bills, costly auto repairs, and missed wages as a result of being unable to return to work. After a major traffic accident, managing your losses on your own may be challenging, and you need to consider partnering with a skilled lawyer.

You should not manage your claim by yourself. It will be extremely detrimental to your lack of experience. You will be up against a large insurance company that deals with these kinds of claims on a daily basis. If you want to maximize the value of your personal injury claim, you need to be positive that you have an experienced personal injury attorney on your side. You can then concentrate more on your recovery and well-being when you know your case is in good hands.
