Nevada Distracted Driving Crashes

It is a given that you need to pay attention to the road whenever you are operating a motor vehicle. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to live up to this very basic idea. In fact, driver distraction is a common cause in live-changing car accidents nationwide. According to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), distracted drivers contribute to an estimated 3.1 percent of fatal collisions in Las Vegas. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), distracted drivers were responsible for 3,142 deaths in 2020 alone.

You are at risk any time you share the road with another motorist. You can never completely control another person’s actions, and this means that you can be hurt at any time you are behind the wheel, or even just traveling near the road. It can be difficult to deal with a serious crash, and you will likely find yourself in an extremely difficult situation. Your injuries can make it hard to live a comfortable life, and they may even be stopping you from returning to work in the future. This can quickly place you in a difficult financial situation as you are also dealing with intense and significant pain.

You may be able to recover compensation if you were hurt by another person’s reckless actions. Nevada state law allows crash victims the right to pursue a personal injury claim when they are hurt in a serious crash due to no fault of their own. You need to work closely with a qualified personal injury lawyer who can help you during this process to ensure you are able to recover maximum compensation.

The legal team at Viloria, Oliphant, Oster & Aman L.L.P. is here to help you during the difficult time after a life-changing car accident.
