Spring Valley, NV (November 22, 2023) - A driver has been arrested following a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in the Spring Valley area on Tuesday night, November 21. The deadly crash occurred at the corner of Buffalo Drive and Flamingo Road at around 10:42 p.m. Local reports indicated that the driver of a 2021 Mercedes GLE 350 was traveling westbound when he hit a man crossing Flamingo Road. The 36-year-old Las Vegas man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim reportedly had the right of way. The driver, 62-year-old Rodger Liao, initially fled the scene but later returned. Liao showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody by local authorities. He is currently facing charges of driving under the influence and failure to stop at the scene of a crash. No additional information has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
