Pedestrian Accidents in Nevada

Data from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) shows that the state experiences a high rate of pedestrian deaths, with a disproportionately high number of major pedestrian crashes occurring in Clark County, home of Las Vegas. A recent four-year study in the state found that there were 376 pedestrian accidents in Nevada resulting in a total of 387 fatalities. Roughly 24.4 percent of traffic deaths in the state include pedestrians and most fatal pedestrian incidents in Nevada occur in urban areas—making up an astounding 90 percent of pedestrian deaths in the Silver State. If you or someone close to you is injured as a pedestrian, you may be able to pursue a claim for compensation with the help of a trained lawyer.

Pedestrians are more likely to suffer permanent or life-threatening injuries in a car accident. A pedestrian has little protection from the full impact of a crash, and the resulting injuries are frequently severe. Damages from a pedestrian collision might easily become unmanageable and difficult to handle on your own. Many of these crashes are caused by negligent or distracted drivers at intersections.
