Las Vegas, NV - Pedestrian Dies in Hit-&-Run at Main St & Foremaster Ln

Las Vegas, NV (April 22, 2024) - A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run collision in the Las Vegas area on Saturday, April 20. The fatal accident was reported late that night around 8:09 p.m. at the intersection of N. Main Street and Foremaster Lane. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of the victim lying on the road.

Footage from the scene showed that the deceased party was traveling on foot across Main Street when they were hit by a southbound motor vehicle. The driver hit the person, projecting them forward along the roadway. The driver involved failed to remain at the scene and continued heading south. Despite life-saving measures at the scene from responding paramedics, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle was identified as a 1990s to early 2000s white Toyota Solara black top convertible. The vehicle likely sustained significant damage to the right headlight, hood, and windshield. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Nevada

The safety of pedestrians in Nevada remains a critical concern. According to statistics, 376 pedestrian crashes in the state from 2014 to 2018 resulted in 387 fatalities. When traveling on city streets, pedestrians often have to share the road with reckless drivers. This may be why nearly 90 percent of fatal pedestrian incidents occurred in urban areas. Clark County continues to play a key role in pedestrian crashes in the state and experiences the highest number of fatal collisions year after year.

It is never easy to handle the aftermath of a pedestrian collision. Due to the seriousness of pedestrian accidents, these kinds of crashes are known to cause severe injuries and substantial financial damages. There is virtually nothing shielding the victim from the full force of the accident, and that is why pedestrians will almost always sustain severe injuries. You want to make sure that you are able to pursue compensation for your injuries and other damages by pursuing a personal injury claim.
