Las Vegas, NV - Pedestrian Hurt in Hit-&-Run at Charleston Blvd & Decatur Blvd

Las Vegas, NV (February 15, 2024) - On Wednesday night, February 14, a pedestrian was hurt after a hit-and-run accident in the Las Vegas area. The collision was reported at the corner of W. Charleston Boulevard and S. Decatur Boulevard at around 9:33 p.m. The victim was traveling on foot at the intersection when they were hit by what authorities described as a gray or silver sport utility vehicle.

The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the involved party. Emergency responders were later notified of the incident and were dispatched to render aid at the scene. The injured party was transported to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Center in critical condition.

The suspect vehicle likely sustained significant front-end damage and possibly a broken windshield. No additional information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be provided as it continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Nevada Hit-&-Run Crashes

Drivers who flee the scene of a crash are committing a crime. By law, you have to stop to provide aid after a serious car accident. Unfortunately, the number of hit-and-run crashes is on the rise across the country. An estimated 682,000 hit-and-runs have taken place each year across the United States in the past ten years. In a recent year, there were more than 737,1000 of these crashes reported nationwide. The majority of these collisions involve pedestrians and cyclists who are not able to get the treatment they desperately need after being hit by a motor vehicle. It is important that you are able to partner with a skilled attorney who can help investigate your incident and find the person responsible for your injuries.

Handling a serious crash on your own can be extremely difficult. It is even harder if you are dealing with life-changing injuries. Hit-and-run crashes are common in Nevada, and many pedestrians are seriously injured on the state’s roads. Even if the person responsible for your injuries fled the scene, it is still possible for you to pursue recovery in order to cover your damages. A trained attorney will be able to offer the legal guidance necessary to protect your legal rights in the difficult moments following a serious hit-and-run collision.
