Las Vegas, NV - Pedestrian Dies in Hit-&-Run on Sahara Ave

Las Vegas, NV (March 13, 2024) - On Tuesday, March 12, a pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run accident in the Las Vegas area. The deadly accident occurred at the corner of W. Sahara Avenue and S. Valley View Boulevard early that morning at around 1:15 a.m. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched after being notified of a pedestrian-vehicle accident.

Local reports indicated that a 34-year-old male pedestrian was crossing on Sahara when he was hit by an eastbound 2015 Nissan 370Z. The driver of the Nissan, later identified as 29-year-old Angelo Pascua of Las Vegas, initially left the scene but later returned a few hours later to direct officers to his vehicle.

The injured party suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The deceased victim was identified as Lavan Canada. The driver was charged with a hit-and-run. No further information has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
