Intersection Crashes in Nevada

There are certain areas of the road that are more likely to be the site of a serious car accident. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 40 percent of car accidents take place at intersections. This means this is the largest crash category in the country. More than 50 percent of injury crashes and almost 20 percent of deadly accidents take place at intersections. Failure to yield when making a left turn is the leading cause of intersection crashes. Statistics show that stop sign-controlled intersections are involved in nearly 700,000 car accidents each year nationwide.
