Paradise, NV - Two Teens Killed in Collision at Hacienda Ave & Pecos Rd

Paradise, NV (March 11, 2024) - On Saturday, March 9, two teenagers were killed after a car accident in the Paradise area. The fatal crash occurred at the corner of Hacienda Avenue and Pecos Road that afternoon at around 12:30 p.m. Local reports that two 16-year-old males were traveling in a Pontiac G6 when it ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.

The impact caused the Pontiac to collide with a nearby street pole, and both occupants were ejected. Initial sources indicated that the G6 was split in two. The passenger in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Speed is believed to have played a role in the accident. The area was closed for several hours while emergency crews were present. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.

Fatal Red Light Crashes in Nevada

Driving through an intersection is just a part of the daily commute for most Nevada residents. It comes to a point when we don’t think much about it. However, statistics show another side of the story. In fact, intersections are the site of nearly 50 percent of injury crashes in the United States. There are traffic signals and stop signs in place to make these areas safer for everyone, but they only work as far as people follow them. Unfortunately, a great number of serious crashes in the United States involve red-light runners. More than 800 people were killed in a recent year in related collisions. If someone close to you is killed by a reckless driver, you may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim in order to achieve a full recovery.
