Nevada Distracted Driving Accidents

In the state of Nevada, distracted driving is one of the main factors contributing to catastrophic collisions. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released statistics that indicated 3,522 persons were killed by distracted drivers in the United States in 2021. This is a nearly 12.1 percent increase from the year before and a 12.9 percent increase from 2019. Texting is one of the most widespread examples of distracted driving on Nevada roads. The National Safety Council (NSC) found that the percentage of drivers using handheld devices while operating a vehicle rose by a startling 127 percent in just ten years, from 1.5 percent in 2012 to 3.4 percent in 2021. Injured parties should consult a trained lawyer in order to construct a strong claim to recover after a serious collision.

Your recovery is important after a severe collision. It can be challenging to fully understand your condition and determine what has to be done to fully recover. It does not take long for the aftermath of a catastrophic crash to leave you feeling helpless and defeated. Crash victims frequently experience feelings of loneliness and confusion after being injured by a careless motorist, and these feelings are only made worse as they try to pursue a legal claim. The insurance company will attempt to take advantage of your situation to persuade you to accept a lowball settlement offer that falls short of your full compensation. Make sure the attorney representing you is qualified and prepared to defend your legal rights to optimize your settlement.

The legal team at Viloria, Oliphant, Oster & Aman L.L.P. is here to help you navigate the complicated legal process to make sure you can get the best possible outcome for your case if you or someone close to you is hurt by a reckless driver. If you want to discuss your case with a trained Reno car crash attorney, contact us today at 775-227-2280. You will be glad you did.
