Speeding-Related Accidents in Nevada

Speeding can mean the difference between a minor crash and a life-changing collision. High-speed crashes are common in Nevada, and speeding is cited as the second most common contributor to serious crashes in the state. Exceeding the speed limit can greatly increase the risk of a car crash, and it impairs a driver’s ability to control a vehicle and react timely to unexpected hazards on the road. A total of 396 people were killed by speeding drivers in Nevada in 2022, a nearly 2.86 percent increase from the previous year. In the past 20 years, speeding has been a factor in nearly one-third of reported traffic fatalities, and negligent drivers who fail to follow the rules of the road should be held responsible in the event of a serious car accident.

There is only so much that can be done to prevent a serious crash from taking place. Drivers in Nevada engage in reckless behaviors behind the wheel every day.
