Reno, NV - Officer Hurt in Two-Car Crash at Virginia St & 8th St

Reno, NV (February 20, 2024) - Early on Monday morning, February 19, an officer with the University of Nevada Police Department was hurt after a two-vehicle accident in the Reno area. The crash took place at the corner of N. Virginia Stree and 8th Street at around 12:30 a.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to render aid to the involved parties.

The unidentified officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. The officer was reportedly one of the drivers of the vehicles involved. At this time, impairment is not believed to have played a role in the accident.

The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No updates on the conditions of the injured officer have been provided.
