Nellis, NV - Pedestrian Hurt in Hit-&-Run at NV-573 & Nellis Blvd

Nellis, NV (April 30, 2024) - On Sunday, April 28, a pedestrian was injured following a hit-and-run in the Nellis area. The accident was reported at the corner of NV-573 and N. Nellis Boulevard early that morning around 7:50 a.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after being notified of the victim lying on the roadway.

Video evidence revealed that the injured party was walking south on the west sidewalk along Nellis. A southbound white 2008 Chevrolet Equinox entered the sidewalk and struck the male pedestrian. The at-fault driver immediately fled the scene without rendering aid. The 29-year-old pedestrian was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center for the treatment of life-threatening injuries. The Chevrolet was later located by officials, but no further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Nevada Pedestrian Accidents

The number of pedestrian fatalities reported in Las Vegas has nearly doubled in a recent year. Unfortunately, a pedestrian will always lose in a crash with a moving car. There were 26 fatalities reported across the city in a recent year, and 15 of these deaths involved pedestrians. Nevada frequently ranks in the top ten states with the greatest number of pedestrian fatalities, making it one of the deadliest places in the country to travel on foot. According to a recent nine-year research, the state saw more than 650 pedestrian fatalities. The nation is seeing an increase in the number of pedestrian fatalities, and it is critical that you can defend your legal rights if you or a loved one is injured in a serious crash.

Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable on the road. Those traveling on foot are more prone to sustain potentially fatal injuries in a traffic accident because they have less protection from the full force of an impact. Due to the significant injuries and financial damages involved, pedestrian accidents have a lot at stake. This is why it is even more crucial that you work with a qualified attorney who has experience assisting injured parties in obtaining full compensation following a catastrophic pedestrian accident. When you represent yourself in court with an experienced legal team, you may feel secure knowing that your case is in capable hands.
