Christina J. Cullen (“Chrissy”) is an associate attorney at Viloria, Oliphant, Oster & Aman L.L.P. practicing in the area of family law. Ms. Cullen helps individuals navigate complex and sensitive domestic relations issues, including divorce, child custody/visitation, alimony, child support, prenuptial agreements, and more.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Cullen served as a law clerk for the Honorable Sandra A. Unsworth in the Family Division of the Second Judicial District Court in Reno, Nevada. As a clerk, she gained valuable insight into the workings of family court and the nuances of Nevada divorce and custody law, as well as drafted hundreds of court orders concerning a wide range of contested domestic issues.
Ms. Cullen was inspired to pursue a legal career advocating for children and families while working at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges on trainings related to child trafficking, child abuse, and domestic violence. In 2018, Ms. Cullen was accepted to Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was awarded a two-thirds merit scholarship and a Civitas ChildLaw Fellowship, a program designed to equip fellows to become leaders in the legal profession working on behalf of children and families. Ms. Cullen excelled academically in law school, receiving four CALI Awards for being best in class in Legal Writing I, Property Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Procedure. She also gained practical experience through representing child clients in child welfare and domestic relations cases in the Civitas ChildLaw Clinic and through various internships, such as at East Bay Family Defenders in San Leandro, California and at Ascend Justice, a domestic violence clinic in Chicago, Illinois. In 2021, Ms. Cullen graduated magna cum laude and demonstrated the necessary expertise to earn a Certificate in Child and Family Law.
Although she grew up in Grass Valley, California, Ms. Cullen has considered northern Nevada her home since graduating with high distinction from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010. She returned to Reno after graduating law school and was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in fall of 2021.
Outside of the office, Ms. Cullen enjoys being active in the outdoors, whether running, climbing, or paddleboarding; nerdier pursuits such as word games and playing with her trivia team, “Pro Se It Isn’t So”; and volunteering as a “big sister” with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada.
