Las Vegas, NV (August 18, 2024) - A driver was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after a deadly car accident in the Enterprise neighborhood of Las Vegas on Saturday, August 17. The fatal crash occurred at around midnight at the intersection of South Las Vegas Boulevard and East Pyle Avenue. Local reports revealed that a Nissan Rogue was heading north in the right lane as a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south in the left turn lane.
For reasons still under police investigation, the two vehicles collided as they both entered the intersection. As a result of the crash,the Jeep hit the right side of the Nissan. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene, and both drivers were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep, later identified as 48-year-old Walter Quijano, showed signs of impairment and was arrested under suspicion of DUI resulting in death. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. Nonetheless, local law enforcement officials are presently investigating the incident, and more updates will be published as the inquiry progresses..
