Paradise, NV (August 31, 2024) - A woman on a scooter was killed after a vehicle collision in the Paradise neighborhood of Nevada on Thursday, August 29. The fatal crash took place at the corner of S. Valley View Boulevard and W. Twain Avenue at around 5:35 p.m. Local reports revealed that a westbound Toyota FJ on Twain was making a right turn to head south as a female pedestrian was headed east on an electric scooter.

Despite life-saving measures from responding officials, the injured party sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene. Local reports indicated that the driver, later identified as 54-year-old David Seltveit, showed signs of impairment. Seltveit was charged with driving under the influence. No further information on the deadly collision is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
