Las Vegas, NV (July 4, 2024) – It is believed that a vehicle defect led to a pedestrian crash where two were injured in Las Vegas on Tuesday, July 3. The crash occurred near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road that evening, around 6:25 p.m. It was reported that the driver of a 2007 Toyota Sienna was traveling at a high rate of speed when they left the roadway and entered the parking lot of a nearby convenience store.
The Toyota hit a police motorcycle along with the officer officer and a citizen. The motorcycle fell onto the officer and the other party, who were both knocked to the ground. The officer was rushed to UMC Trauma for the treatment of sustained injuries, and the citizen was transported to Sunrise Hospital in serious condition. Officials initially suspected the motorist was intoxicated, but it was later determined that a mechanical defect in the van caused the crash. No further information is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Pedestrian Accidents in Nevada
Walking leaves you exposed to the dangers of the road. Humans are not designed to endure the force of a car crash, and in the case of an accident, pedestrians are more likely to sustain possibly fatal injuries. The bulk of fatal pedestrian collisions in Nevada occur in Las Vegas, the state's most visited destination by travelers from across the world. In the city in 2023, 53 pedestrian deaths were recorded. The state takes pedestrian safety seriously, so if you or a loved one is severely injured in a collision, you should be prepared to file a claim with the assistance of an experienced lawyer.
Pedestrian accidents are notoriously serious, with many victims suffering fatal injuries. Experiencing the death of a loved one can be difficult, and the grief is sometimes compounded if you later discover that the incident was caused by someone else's careless actions. Your loss can be too much for you to handle, so you might not think about filing a lawsuit. You must be prepared to defend your legal rights at this trying time. That is frequently only achievable if you collaborate with an experienced lawyer who has successfully handled wrongful death cases in the past.
