Nevada Distracted Driving Accidents
Distracted driving is one of the main factors contributing to fatal car accidents across the nation. Any action that diverts a driver's attention from the road is considered distracted driving, and this includes texting, talking on the phone, eating, and using in-car entertainment systems. Distracted driving causes approximately 3,000 deaths annually in the United States, making up 8 to 9 percent of all traffic fatalities. It is estimated that distracted drivers kill nine people per day. Drivers who are distracted and lose focus on the road should be held accountable in the event of a serious auto accident.
