Wrong-way Collisions in Nevada

When a driver crosses the wrong way on a busy road, they pose a serious risk to themselves and others. Statistics show that wrong-way drivers are frequently under the influence of alcohol. There were an estimated 500 fatalities reported each year nationwide involving wrong-way collisions in a recent three-year study. During that time, over 2,000 people died in wrong-way crashes. Extreme impacts are a common result of these incidents, and the injuries sustained by those involved can easily change lives. Head-on impacts are some of the most lethal types of crashes possible, contributing to nearly 10 percent of annual roadway deaths despite making up less than two percent of reported crashes.
