Reno, NV - District Judge Dies in Pedestrian Crash at Virginia St & California Ave

Reno, NV (May 30, 2024) - A United States District Court Judge was killed in a pedestrian crash in the midtown area of Reno on Wednesday, May 29. The incident was reported around 2:15 p.m. at the corner of S. Virginia Street and California Avenue near the federal courthouse. The victim was traveling on foot through the intersection when he was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle.

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The injured pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.
