Las Vegas, NV - Two Pedestrians Hurt in Hit-&-Run at Charleston Blvd & 4th St

Las Vegas, NV (May 8, 2024) - Two pedestrians were injured after a hit-and-run accident in the Las Vegas area on Monday, May 6. The accident was reported at the intersection of E. Charleston Boulevard and S. 4th Street early that morning around 11:40 a.m. It was later revealed that the victim was traveling on foot when they were hit by an unknown light-colored truck traveling northbound on 4th Street.

The driver failed to maintain their lane and hit two pedestrians who were lying on the sidewalk. The operator of the pickup truck fled the scene without rendering aid to the involved parties. The two injured parties were transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A male pedestrian was later discharged. No updates on the identity of the at-fault driver or the description of the suspect vehicle have been provided at this time. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Hit-&-Run Accidents in Nevada

Traveling on foot can be dangerous, and victims are at risk of suffering life-changing injuries in the event of a crash. A hit-and-run collision is a terrible event that might prevent a victim from receiving the assistance they require to fully recover. Roughly 5 percent of auto accidents nationwide involve drivers who take off from the scene. In a recent year, there were 285 recorded fatal car accidents in Nevada, and roughly 14 of these crashes involved a hit-and-run. Between 2018 and 2020, there were over 3,000 hit-and-run accidents recorded in Las Vegas alone. The number of serious hit-and-runs in the United States is on the rise, and a trained lawyer can help you protect your legal rights during this difficult time.

Make a note of everything you can if a driver hits you and leaves the scene. This can include the license plate and perhaps even the driver's description. After that, you need to get in touch with the police to record the incident and obtain an accident report. Authorities might be able to locate the motorist, in which case you could file a lawsuit against the negligent party. It is not uncommon for people who have been in serious crashes to be confused about where to go once the motorist has left the scene. Since the at-fault party is unknown, you probably will not know who will pay for your injuries and any additional losses resulting from the crash. You can still potentially pursue a claim after a hit-and-run crash with the help of a trained lawyer.
