If you were recently injured in a pedestrian accident, it is important to put your health above all else. By receiving the appropriate level of care, you may be able to fully recover from your injuries over time.

At some point, you may realize that you want to file a claim for your injuries. In this situation, there are several steps you should take. These include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Write down as much information as you can with regard to the accident. This includes the injuries you have suffered and any losses you have incurred.
  • Make notes of all the conversations you have had regarding the pedestrian accident, such as with doctors, police, the other party, and any witnesses.
  • Preserve all evidence. Do you have photos of the accident scene and/or your injuries? Any evidence you have should be saved for future use.
  • Get legal help. At some point, you need to share all your information with a legal professional that can provide advice and point you in the right direction.

Depending on the extent of the accident, you may be able to do some of these things. However, if you are seriously injured, don't worry about anything else. You need to receive immediate medical attention.

Even if you follow all the rules of the road, such as crossing the street in designated areas, you could still be involved in an accident with a motor vehicle. Knowing which steps to take, along with your rights in Nevada, will put you in a better position.
