Deadly Rollover Accidents in Nevada
The number of rollover crashes has been on the rise in recent years, and part of this is largely due to the popularity of top-heavy vehicles such as sport-utility vehicles and pickup trucks. There were 7,640 passenger vehicles killed in rollovers nationwide in 2021. Nearly 76 percent of these accidents involved a prior impact leading to the rollover. Less than 2 percent of auto accidents involve overturned vehicles, but almost 30 percent of deaths involving passenger vehicles are rollovers. The majority of these fatalities involve unrestrained passengers.
