Deadly Pedestrian Crashes in Nevada
Traveling is a pedestrian is never completely safe. There is not much protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a crash, and it is safe to say that they are not able to withstand a vehicle collision. Statistics show that nearly 16.8 percent of deadly collisions involved in pedestrians in 2020, and almost 24.3 percent of pedestrian deaths that year involved a hit-and-run. From 2011 to 2020, pedestrian deaths increased by nearly 46.2 percent, while other types of traffic fatalities only increased by 14.4 percent during that same time frame.
You will never be completely prepared for a deadly accident. It can be devastating when someone close to you is taken from you after an unexpected accident. Families are often left to pick up the pieces as they have to deal with the aftermath. You need to be sure that you exercise your rights after a deadly accident. Nevada state law allows those closest to the victim to pursue a wrongful death claim after a fatal crash in order to recover for any damage related to the incident, including funeral and burial expenses.
