High-Speed Crashes in Nevada

Certain types of behavior behind the wheel are more likely to cause serious auto accidents. Excessive speeds have been involved in a substantial number of fatal crashes nationwide. You are far more likely to be in an accident when you speed. In 2021, high-speed crashes accounted for about 29 percent of all road fatalities nationwide, with 12,330 fatalities. That works out to about 33 fatalities every day from speeding drivers. The safety features in your car won't work as intended in a high-speed collision, and the injuries that follow will be far more severe. Speeding motorists are also less able to prevent catastrophic collisions, as they are less able to react to hazards on the road.

There is nearly always a chance of a crash when traveling on Nevada roads. You never control the actions of another driver.
